đź’˛ Taboola Buys Connexity for $800M
Taboola went public and (market cap $1.9 billion, according to Google, and $2.35 billion according to…themselves) announced an acquisition of Connexity for $800M – a marketing technology company that operates an retail- and e-commerce-focused advertising network.
The deal happened in the form of $260 million cash on hand, $300 million from committed debt financing and about $240 million shares issued to the seller.
Connexity was originally called Shopzilla before rebranding and it has acquired a number of businesses throughout the years, including Become.com, Skimlinks and PriceGrabber. Connexity was an acquisition made by Shopzilla when it was a shopping search engine.
Taboola today has 9,000 digital property partners, 13,000 direct advertisers and 500 million daily active users on its platform.
Connexity includes 1,600 direct merchants, 6,000 publishers (Walmart, Ebay and others), and its network has some 40,000 retail-oriented publishers that can select from a pool of 750 million prodiuct offers and an audience of 100 million shoppers.
Connexity covers affiliate links, influencer marketing, in-stream ads, shopping search ads and more.
Taboola expects the combined company to have gross profit of over $500 million for the fiscal year with $185 million of adjusted EBITDA.

Instagram Expands Insights Data to 60 Days
Great news for Instagram marketers! The platform announced that it’s doubling the data tracking period within Instagram Insights stretching it from 30 to 60 days.
The existing preset date range options will still be available along the top of the screen but soon ypu’ll be able to enter a custom expanded time period for the displayed metrics.
As per Instagram VP of Product Vishal Shah:
“We’re doubling the timeframe to 60 days for now (it’ll be 90 later this summer). We’ll keep making updates based on feedback and share more when we can.”
