How Much Do Influencers Expect to be Paid — By Audience Size And Platform

Intellifluence recently conducted a survey of 1,249 influencers across the US, Canada and the UK in order to gain insights into the individual compensation expectations. Here’s a quick rundown:

What type of compensation do they prefer?

• 69.5% want cash and product, 24.5% cash only and 5.7% product only.

How much do influencers charge per Instagram Post?

• Smaller-scale influencers up to 1,000 followers charge around $193 per post on average. 80,000 followers and up charge more than $1,000 per post.
• Audience size isn’t a determining factor because a smaller, more active and engaged following may be just as beneficial as a larger following.

On Facebook (1-4,999 @ $169.63) and Twitter (1-4,999 $56.30) respectively, pricing’s lower. Especially given Twitter’s fast-moving tweet streams.

For YouTube and TikTok, Intellifluence has split its listing into ‘Peer/Authoritative’ influencers – regular creators who are not regular creators – and ‘Aspirational’ stars – higher profile/web celebrity creators.

The pricing? Significantly different between the two categories:

• 1-4,999 @ $207.32 for Peer/Authoritative – note the difference in audience sizes.
• 1-850,000 @ $1000.00 for Aspirational

That means learning as much as you can about your traffic source, finding your vertical and niche, trying different offers to identify the best one, and scaling top performers. Financial investment is of course also required.

Tips For Newbies

• Start with something that has an easy conversion flow, even if it comes with a lower payout.

• Continue to test and compare. Split testing is essential.
• Invest in the right tools, such as a tracker and spy tool.
