Instagram is launching two new advertising products on the platform to help businesses get discovered and remembered, including event ads with a built-in reminder feature and ads that appear in Search.

Instagram invited creators and brands last year to include reminders in event posts highlighting performances, TV show premieres, or sporting events.

Users could choose to be reminded to attend by clicking the “Remind Me” button at the bottom of each post.

Now, the Meta-owned company is bringing the same functionality to the platform’s advertisements.

Instagram claims to have recently partnered with brands “such as Starz” to test the new ad format, with the goal of making it easier for “businesses to announce, remind, and notify people of upcoming events.”

When users choose to receive reminders, Instagram will send them three notifications: one day before, 15 minutes before, and at the time of the event in question.

Instagram is also announcing ads that will appear in search results on the app, with the goal of “reaching people who are actively searching for businesses, products, and content,” according to the company.

When people tap into a post from search results, ads will appear in the feed that they can scroll through.

Instagram Ads in Search is still in the testing phase, but Instagram says the placement will be available globally in the coming months.
