Pinterest Users More Likely To Shop Environmentally-friendly Products
Fishing for customers on Pinterest? New data shows you might do better with environmentally-friendly products on this particular platform.
Based on a recent survey conducted among both Pinners and non-Pinners, Pinterest found that its users are 40% more likely to say the environment is a ‘personal interest’, and are 30% more likely to take action as a result.
In addition to this, Pinners are also 55% more likely to be concerned about their personal carbon footprint than people who don’t use the app, with increased interest in things like electric cars, concept cars and commuter bikes.
Based on these findings, Pinterest has provided three key tips for marketers looking to align with these usage trends:
- Provide educational content
- Show off your sustainable side
- Inspire action

New Monetization Option Coming To Twitter
Do you have a large following on Twitter? You will likely get access to a new monetization option soon. It’s called “Super Follows” and should be reserved to anyone with more than 10k followers.
Twitter announced earlier this year it was working on a Super Follows feature that would allow some users to charge followers and give them access to extra content. On Sunday, app researcher Jane Manchun Wong tweeted screenshots of what she says it will look like.
According to Wong’s research, which is typically very accurate, the Super Follows program will be limited to Twitter users with at least 10,000 followers, who have posted at least 25 tweets within the past 30 days, and are at least 18 years old. As Twitter has referenced, one of the main features of Super Follows will be bonus content, such as exclusive tweets for Super Followers.
Twitter declined to comment about Wong’s latest research for now, so we will have to wait some more to see what it really looks like.
